I spent the weekend getting my head back on straight.I think this happens to everyone from time to time, and for a variety of reasons. Maybe you’re not cleaning up after yourself well… so you need to get back to picking up your mess. Or, maybe it’s getting back to the gym on a regular basis. Taking time to shake it off is important, and that’s exactly what I did this weekend.
Disclaimer: I’m not a football fan. What I do know is that football season means that my friends will be getting together to watch the Broncos play, and I’ll have an opportunity to bring a fun appetizer, I’ll challenge myself to make it healthy, and I’ll throw out random football knowledge during the game (you know, to participate).
Last weekend was a weekend where I hit the reset button (again!) The first weekend in a LONG time where I felt well enough to do much, I decided to flex my muscles in the kitchen and try a few new healthy recipes to get the back-on-track party started.
Many moons ago, I lived in Murfreesboro, TN. Home of my alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University, I have so many fond memories of life in that town. My girlfriends and I spent time all over that town and when we could afford it, we loved a dinner out.
Local Colorado brands have quickly become some of my favorites since I’ve started my healthy journey. I also love that being involved in the blogger community has allowed me to be introduced to so many new companies based here in my state, including Rice Family Honey out of Greeley, Colorado.
Do you drool over Instagram pictures, or is that just me?I follow so many amazing food bloggers, home chefs, and, of course, my favorite Food Network stars (the cast of The Kitchen, obvi!) And, the food porn that’s posted often inspires me in the kitchen. One of my blogger friends posted her excitement about making Wonton Pizzas, and I just had to try them.
Yes… this is one of my favorite snacks of all time. Not only have I made them multiple times, but I haven’t found a single person that doesn’t love them. I’ve taken them to wine country, Jen and I made them this weekend – – and, I can’t wait to make them again!!!
It’s just about time for the Super Bowl, y’all! While I’m not a huge football fan, I do love it when my city rallies around their team. It gets pretty exciting! Everything from the airport signs being painted orange and blue to the botanic gardens lighting their outdoor scenes with Broncos-colored lights… Denver REALLY loves their Broncos!
